DEMOfall09 Conference Kicks Off Today

Two DEMO Launchers To Win the DEMO Million Dollar Media Prize

Demonstrations and AlphaPitch Sessions Start Tuesday September 22 2009

The Fall 2009 edition of the DEMO conference kicks off Monday September 21, 2009 with a Welcome Reception and CEO & Dealmakers Dinner tonight in San Diego. The three-day event, one of the most important among the tech conferences in its 20th edition, is widely considered the launch pad for emerging technology.

The three-day conference centers on the Demonstration sessions, where technology companies of all stages demonstrate their latest products to a packed ballroom of the tech world’s most important players, from investors to journalists. DEMO organizers, including Co-Executive Producers Chris Shipley and Matt Marshall of Venture Beat, handpicked DEMO launchers.

Two DEMO launchers will win the DEMO Million Dollar Media Prize. Picked by a panel of judges, winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, September 23 2009 at 3:00 pm PST.

New to this edition of the DEMO conference is the AlphaPitch event, scheduled to open up each demonstration sessions. The AlphaPitch is for early-stage startups, still in their prototype or development stage, who have received less than $500,000 in financing that are looking to announce their product to the industry before putting it to market.

“We’re not just picking any company for AlphaPitch, we’re selecting the coolest earliest-stage companies around…” said Matt Marshall. Selected companies have been given 90-seconds to pitch and a kiosk at the DEMO pavilion.

For the third consecutive year, BitGravity, beginning at 8:00 am PST Tuesday and Wednesday will stream the event live. Live video can be seen on the DEMO website.

RusPRnews will be covering the event in its entirety.
