LOS ANGELES,(RUSHPRNEWS) 5 August 2008–Nicole Kidman has sparked rumours she is set to buy the rights to the best-selling novel The Pages – after she was spotted meeting the book’s author Murray Bail on several occasions.
The Hours actress is reportedly desperate to star in a big-screen adaptation of the Australian author’s works, after a movie version of Bail’s award-winning Eucalyptus book was scrapped.
Kidman was set to appear in the project in 2006, but the film was put on hiatus after co-star Russell Crowe allegedly stormed off-set on the first day.
And gossips began talking of a possible deal between Kidman and Bail to reignite interest in an adaptation of his writings after the pair was snapped meeting together on several occasions in Sydney, Australia.
The Pages focuses on the tale of a philosopher who is asked to look at the work of a late academic by his bereaved family. Kidman is reportedly eyeing the lead role of the philosopher in the movie.
