Wandering Worx Entertainment is celebrating the launch of its new Canadian record label, Wandering Worx Music, with upcoming releases from hot new hip hop producer Rel!g!on.
Revelationz 1, Rel!g!on’s debut record, features the legendary Chuck D of Public Enemy, underground hip hop veteran Planet Asia, and Pittsburgh up-and-comer Jasiri X. The Wandering Worx-produced video for the record’s first single, Lucid, is currently in rotation on Much Music and features West Coast hip hop heavy-hitters Moka Only and E.D.G.E.
Wandering Worx Entertainment co-founder Rodney Davidson is pleased with the reception the label’s first release has received so far.
‘We’re ecstatic that Rel!g!on’s debut, and essentially the debut of our label, has received such attention already,’ said Davidson, referring to favourable words in national publications Rap Reviews and Exclaim Magazine. “Our goal is to keep this positive momentum going with some exciting collaborations and the signing of more talented artists to the Wandering Worx label in the coming weeks.”
Davidson and partner Hayden Baptiste (aka Rel!g!on) will also collaborate with hit songwriter Jenson Vaughan, who has worked with Shaggy and Musiq Souldchild. The label will also work with talented Vancouver producer Chin Injeti, who has worked with Kanye West, Drake and 50 Cent, in addition to producing two tracks on Eminem’s latest album Recovery.
Based in Vancouver, BC, Wandering Worx Entertainment is home to Wandering Worx Music and Wandering Worx Films. The film production company has an extensive resume including working with director Andre C. Erin (Confined, Simple Things, Sam’s Lake), winning the 2003 Canwest Comedy Film Festival, and producing the Berkeley Film Festival Grand Prize-winning feature Kick Me Down, starring David Richmond-Peck (V, The Day The Earth Stood Still). Wandering Worx is currently producing a full-length, science fiction feature written by Nicholas Treeshin, tentatively titled The 40 Year Deal.
