Star Micronics GB, market leaders in the sales of sliding head lathes, have announced the latest version of their best-selling SR machine series. The new model, designated the SR-20R IV, made its debut at Star GB’s open house event this October. The SR medium-complex machine series was launched in 1992 and has constantly pushed the capabilities of sliding head technology, with each version updating and improving to meet the needs of the market. Since its inception, the SR family of machines have been successfully integrated into engineering companies worldwide.
The SR-20R IV introduces new features, including an improved Y-axis control function to facilitate a wide variety of complex machining on the rear side and efficiently divide front-side and rear-side machining processes. It also has a fully programmable B-axis.
This improved functionality, coupled with the increased output of the power-driven tool motor and a 27-positioned tool station accommodating 41 tools, make the SR-20R IV the most advanced medium-complex machine yet from Star.
