LOS ANGELES (RPRN) 5/18/2009–Oscar®-winning actors Sidney Poitier and Martin Landau will join Mankiewicz’s family and friends in a special onstage salute. In celebration of the legendary writer, director and producer Joseph L. Mankiewicz, the Academy will present a recently restored print of “Suddenly, Last Summer,” the psychological drama starring Katharine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift. WHO: Introductions by Sid Ganis, Academy President

Program host, Ben Mankiewicz, nephew; film critic and weekend daytime host for Turner Classic Movies and co-host of “At the Movies.”

Martin Landau, directed by Mankiewicz in “Cleopatra”
Sidney Poitier, directed by Mankiewicz in “No Way Out” (will not be available for interviews – pool feed of discussion provided)
