NEW YORK (RUSHPRNEWS) AUGUST 8, 2008–Jay-Z is stepping up to prove that there just might be some love left in the heart of the city. In a joint venture with New York City’s mayor, Michael Bloomberg, the Jigga Man will launch the Summer Streets program. Summer Streets, which will be held this Saturday (August 9) from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., will transform the dank city streets into recreational zones. Complete with dancer performances, hopscotch, fitness classes, and much more, the festivities will take place on nearly 7 miles of Manhattan streets.

“Summer Streets is “a grand experiment that could dramatically alter the way we use and look at the streets of New York,” said Bloomberg.

Streets that are normally tied up with cars and trucks will be turned over to the public – so we can experience this city as never before.”
