Update:Guys, We Were Just Kidding About that Jamie Foxx as Frank Sinatra Thing
By Erin T. McMillon
LOS ANGELES (RPRN) 5/21/2009--Jamie Foxx has reportedly been tapped to play “Ol’ Blue Eyes” himself, Frank Sinatra, in a new biopic about the rat packer. Despite rumors of Leonardo DiCaprio and Harry Connick Jr. being up for the Martin Scorsese directed flick, recent reports are suggesting Jamie Foxx is on board to play the Caucasian crooner.
According to reports, Foxx, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 film Ray, is now a favorite for the role of Sinatra because of his charisma and talent.
“Jamie would seem to be born to the role,” an alleged insider told Britain’s Daily Star. “Magnificent voice, convincing acting ability – like Frank himself – born on the wrong side of the tracks, makes it against all odds, has his brush with authority. The guy’s a gift.”
At press time, Foxx had yet to confirm or deny the rumors.
