The seminar, which will take place from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Best Western Chateau Plus Granville as well as live-online, will provide attendees with an understanding of the newly-launched electronic immigration application management system, as well as how the program will affect skilled trade workers in Canada and their options for immigrating to Canada. Internationally recognized immigration expert Vance Langford, LL.B, will also discuss Canadian immigration eligibility requirements, foreign credential evaluation, and work permit application preparation. This seminar has been approved for 5.5 CPD hours by the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council, The Law Society of British Columbia and The Law Society of New Brunswick.
Express Entry, Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s controversial new immigration system signifies the transition to an entirely electronic immigration process. According to Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander, the goal of Express Entry is “to get people with the skills to succeed in Canada’s economy here faster than ever”. Critics of the program, like immigration lawyer Richard Kurland, have been critical, stating that Canada’s immigration policies have shifted in favor of “expediency and naked pragmatism” and that Express Entry lacks “transparency, oversight or accountability”.
