A quaint little green cottage that looks like it was built for fairies, elves and hobbits, this charming historical location which use to serve as a post office in 1898 for the Grandview- Woodlands neighbourhoodin Vancouver has been transformed into an aromatic small business, The Mystic Masala Aromapothecary.
Owner Glynnis Osher, aka ‘The Spice Mistress’, originally from South Africa, moved to Vancouver 9 years ago from New York City. Two months after she moved, Osher entered the Small Business BC contest where she was chosen as one of the 5 winners. This persuaded Glynnis to begin her small wholesale/online business, and then in April 2014, Glynnis transformed her dreams into reality and created a unique retail aromapothecary store. Selling her ‘potions and lotions’ which are rooted in the Ayurvedic healing arts, Glynnis has drawn her inspiration from the story “The Mistress of Spices”, a novel by Chitra Banerjee, which tells of a woman who heals her customers using her mystical knowledge of the spices.
This special spot on 1723 Grant Street just off Commercial Drive in Vancouver, offers thepublic 100% natural aromatherapy candles, massage oils, spice blends, natural perfume oils and potions and other aromatic goodies.
