Voucher codes website survey finds Brits are more romantic than many thought

 – Romance is alive and well in the UK according to the results of a new site user survey conducted by voucher code specialist The latest research carried out by the site showed that almost 40% consider that “there is no price on love” when it comes to how much to pay for an engagement ring.

The survey also showed that 11% believe that a betrothed couple should spend twice the man’s monthly salary on a ring, while 30% stated that they would be prepared to pay as much as £500 for an engagement ring.

When it comes to making a proper first impression, 75% of respondents stated that they would always pay out for a new outfit for a first date. The poll also showed that 65% are content to split a restaurant bill in half – while 67% say they wouldn’t eat the most costly thing on the restaurant menu even if their favourite dish were on show!

When love is still new and fresh the survey showed that 57% of people got taken out by their new partner for a meal while 46% stated that they were given flowers. 25% said that they had been given the gift of jewellery while almost 20% had been spoiled with a romantic weekend in a hotel or motel somewhere. However in contrast to this, just 5% confessed that they had been bought new lingerie by their new man.

Men it seems are more romantic in money terms these days, with a big 94% saying their bride-to-be’s family need not fund the entire wedding.
