Obama Campaign Launches Ad Entitled “Foreign Vehicles”

New Ad: “McCain Drives Foreign Vehicles”
By Amanda Scott

-– In the wake of Newsweek’s report that John McCain wasn’t being honest with Michigan workers when he claimed in a recent Detroit TV interview that “I’ve bought American literally all my life, and I’m proud,” the Obama campaign is launching a new 30 second ad entitled “foreign vehicles.”

The ad highlights not only the three foreign cars among McCain’s fleet of 13 vehicles, but McCain’s failure to support American auto manufacturers with loans to help them retool and build the next generation of fuel efficient vehicles. While McCain claims to support these loans, he has a record of opposing them and dismissed the idea last month as “predicting failure on the part of the automakers.”

Newsweek reported that, in addition to the foreign hybrid he recently tried to deny having purchased despite having bragged about the purchase just last year, McCain’s garages in his 7 houses include 13 vehicles. The fleet includes a Lexus, a 2005 Volkswagen convertible, and a 2001 Honda sedan.
