CHICAGO,IL(RushPRnews)12/04/08-William Balfour, the suspect arrested for the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother, and nephew, was denied bail in an Illinois courtroom yesterday (December 3).According to The Chicago Times, Balfour appeared in court yesterday, one day after allegedly being charged with three counts of first degree murder and one count of home invasion.

Despite the reported charges, Balfour’s attorney, Joshua Kutnick, said that there was no evidence linking his client to the alleged murder weapon.

“Thus far it is my impression and William’s impression that he has been painted guilty in this case,” Kutnick said in court. “And that is untrue and unfortunate. We implore the public to keep an open mind.”

According to the prosecutors, however, police discovered gun shot residue on the steering wheel of his car on the day of the murders, his cell phone records say he wasn’t home at the time, and his girlfriend said he confessed to the murders.

As previously reported by Yo! Raps, Balfour was arrested on Monday by Chicago police.
