NEW YORK (RUSHPRNEWS)Â July 18, 2008 –As previously reported by Yo! Raps, 50 Cent has waged an all out war on his son’s mother Shaniqua Tompkins. Not only has he filed a $20 million defamation suit against her, 50 also alleged that she was not honoring an existing custody agreement between the two. 50 has won the first battle as a Long Island judge has just granted him visitation rights to his son.
According to reports, Tompkins and 50 showed up in a Long Island courtroom yesterday to duke it out over their son, Marquise.
“I haven’t seen my son in a while. That’s why I came here today,” 50 said according to the New York Daily News.
Both parents were ordered to take drug tests before the judge would rule on 50’s request to take his son on vacation, says TMZ. Well, 50 passed his test with flying colors and the judge granted him permission to take his son from August 3 to August 12. Tompkins was not so lucky in that department as her urine reportedly tested positive for opiates. She explained away the drug’s presence by saying that she is currently taking a codeine-laced cough syrup.
Tompkins also denied she is keeping their son away from 50 saying that she would “never, never, never” do that.
When leaving the courtroom she said that she is nervous about the upcoming visitation, telling reporters that she didn’t trust the rapper. “Not at all. Not in any way. I don’t,” she said. “That is just an honest, nondefamation opinion.”
