Igoeti, Georgia (RUSHPRNEWS)19 August 2008– Russia and Georgia have begun exchanging prisoners of war taken during fighting in Georgia in the past two weeks. Witnesses said officials from the two sides met Tuesday for the exchange in the village of Igoeti, 45 kilometers west of the Georgian capital Tbilisi. PARIS,FRANCE (RUSHPRNEWS) 17 August 2008–France says Russian President Dmitri Medvedev has promised that Russian troops will begin leaving Georgia at mid-day Monday. The office of French President Nicolas Sarkozy says the withdrawal commitment came Saturday in a telephone call between the French and Russian leaders.
