Bert's Seafood Naples

Naples, FL (RPRN) 03/10/10 — Bert’s Seafood & Chowder House recently opened its doors on Fifth Avenue South in Naples.  Bert’s offers diners fresh fish and seafood selections that are flown in daily, and served in generous portions, all in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

Starters include a New England favorite….Fried Whole Belly Clams, as well as, Lobster Salad Sliders, Flash Fried Calamari and Clams Casino.  House specialties include Clam Chowder and Bert’s Signature Seafood Bisque, overflowing with chunks of lobster, scallops, shrimp and crabmeat.

Among the delicious entrées is Bert’s Signature Baked Seafood Platter, featuring a delightful combination of shrimp, scallops, cod and lobster topped with a homemade crab stuffing.  Other options include Grilled or Blackened Salmon, Baked North Atlantic Sea Scallops, Baked Stuffed Cod with Lobster Sauce, Sautéed or Blackened Gulf Snapper and Grilled Mahi Mahi, and the traditional Fish & Chips is fabulous.  For a special treat the Baked Lazyman’s Lobster Casserole with chunks of freshly cooked Maine lobster meat with a delicate butter crumb topping is highly recommended.  Bert’s lighter fare choices include fresh Cod Sandwiches, Blackened or Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwiches, Kobe burgers, chicken, and pasta.  Steak lovers will enjoy Bert’s Char-Grilled 16 oz. New York Strip or the 6 or 10 oz. Filets, cooked to perfection.

Bert’s desserts should not be overlooked.  The “Decadent Dessert” menu is a feast for the eyes and very reasonably priced.  Selections include Chocolate Madness and a Pear Crème Cake that is “light as air.”

The décor is warm and inviting with dark woods and deep red walls.  On the walls are large black and white prints of Naples’ waterfront, circa 1900 to 1940, that were reproduced from the archives of The Naples Historical Society.  Further enhancing the cozy décor is a stunning 30-foot teak bar, where old friends gather and new friends are made.

Co-Owners Jim Hammar and Tom Shields have strived to create an exceptional seafood menu that is priced reasonably, and served in a fun and casual setting .…“a perfect combination.”
