The figures, revealed by data collated by Ratedpeople.com’s monthly barometer of the UK home improvement market, showed a 122 per cent year on year increase in home owners requesting traditional trades, with requests for stonemasons in particular increasing by 179 per cent.

 

Ratedpeople.com has indicated that the increase in popularity of TV craft and property shows such as Mastercrafts, featuring Monty Don, may have an impact on the popularity of craft trades, as people learn more about the benefits of such crafts and invest in traditional features for their home.
