SEATTLE (RUSHPRNEWS) 09/19/2008--N.E.R.D front man Pharrell Williams is set to join a list of celebrities involved in a new $300 million advertising campaign for Microsoft. According to reports, the change is due to consumer's poor response to their previous campaign featuring comedian Jerry Seinfeld and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
In one of the poorly received ads, Seinfeld and Gates are shown chit chatting while shopping for shoes. The other ad featured the pair engaged in conversation at a family's dinner table.
After a short two week run, the company has decided to let them go in favor of a new campaign featuring Pharrell, Deepak Chopra, and Eva Longoria.
A Microsoft spokesman said that this "second phase" or advertisements will run with the tagline: "Windows. Life without walls."
