Yankees: Death Of A Dynasty
September 4, 2008

NEW YORK (RUSHPRNEWS)09/04/2008--No the title is not about the poorly scripted, low-budget comical satire of the hip-hop music industry centered around Jay-Z and Damon Dash's Roc-A-Fella Records. It is about the pathetically poor, low-emotion season baseball's former Kings - The New York Yankees - have delivered us. The movie - released in 2003, the last year the Yankees made it to a World Series, was funny and sarcastic. Unfortunately the Yankees 2008 season has also been a joke. The once omnipotent Bronx Bombers have been slowly shedding its indestructible image over the past eight seasons. It seems, this season the armor is fully shed.
The so-called expert sports prognosticators have been predicting the Yankees demise for the past 5 years, so they had to get it right eventually, right? And with the Yankees languishing six games behind arch-nemesis Boston Red Sox for the wild card and 9,5 games behind the surprising first-place Tampa Bay Rays, it appears as if the "the ship be sinking." With a mere 30 games left to the season, unless they go on an incredible run, the Yankees will miss the playoffs for the first time in 15 years.
From 1996-2000, the Yankees won four of five World Series and rekindled the old Yankee dynasties of yesteryear. But despite a $200 million pay roll and an all-star cast of big sluggers and highly paid pitchers, the Yankees have not sniffed a World Series ring in eight years.
