Visual Concepts Does a 360

Naples, FL (RPRN) 8/14/2008--- A huge panoramic mural featuring the wild beauty of the Everglades' flora and fauna has just been installed at the, soon to be opened, Big Cypress Market Place. The daunting task of creating the magnificent panels was entrusted to local graphic service designer Jim Markling. Jim is the owner of Visual Concepts which specializes in large-format printing on a grand scale.The mural is 10-feet high, 390-feet long and comprised of 96 panoramic photographic panels, with each panel measuring 4-feet x 10-feet. The photos were taken in the Everglades National Park by Frank Berna, and creatively enhanced and printed by Visual Concepts.

The masterpiece is so large that it took over four hours to print each panel for a total of 384 hours and they had to be painstakingly checked for proper color and clarity. Certain areas were further enhanced to bring out the natural beauty of the paradise located only a short distance away. Then the installation portion took an additional month for perfect placement. The mural is located on the second floor and will welcome guests with its abundance of breathtaking beauty and soothing scenes.

"I am so excited to be part of a project of this magnitude," said Jim Markling. "The Big Cypress Market Place is going to be a wonderful destination for southwest Florida residents and tourists to visit. The mural will be a magnificent piece of art for people of all ages to enjoy for generations."

"It would not have been possible without the talent and dedication of photographer Frank Berna and printer Jim Markling.

Frank's love of the Everglades is clearly evident in the photos, but it is Jim's skills with large-format printing that gave us exactly what we wanted--a 10-foot-high real-life mural that encircles our second-floor mezzanine and will enthrall visitors and tourists for years to come."
